A dullish day on Monday,so was glad to be able to get some of the stonechats. This one got a little to close, some may find it a tad to large in the frame just a tad took off the right, did get more not so close, but quite liked the lemony background in this one.

Canon 1DMK4,Canon 500f4L + 1.4 convertor,ISO 500,f7.1,1/500

I would like a little more canvas, Karen, but it is no big deal in this case. You have the subject nicely on a third, bags of detail, and a great background. Good result for a dull day.

A cracker! Maybe a little more room but that's very minor. Colours are terrific.

Super picture. Composition is great as is the background and setting. The size in frame is Ok for me but perhaps a very slight clockwise rotation?

Its a great shot with wonderful eye contact, detail and colour, what you've done with your result works well, despite being a tad big in frame. However I think it was begging to be shot portrait!

Great detail, setting and background. Portrait format might have been interesting perhaps?

Nits covered good detail of a bird I have only ever captured from a distance. Nice BG and heather makes for a nice setting.
