Only a bird on a stick ( and a very large stick at that) . However, this is a first for me with this species, so I was quite pleased to bring this image home.
I have found them to be incredibly nervous birds and they decide to move off if I tried to get within 30 metres of them. After several attempts over a number of weekends my strategy changed to a sit and wait strategy and eventually a pair came close enough to photograph. This is the female and I have a similar image of a male that I will show in due course.
Hi Austin super capture .The colour balance is a tadge off with that distinctive yellow lost .A tap on auto colour faded to 40 to 50% puts it in the right ball park for me.
Nice, typical pose and perch, a pleasure to view and one of my favourite birds... the nit has been mentioned but I think it may be because you have posted an untagged image and not sRGB?
Mark, Thanks for taking the extra time to suggest a solution. That makes quite a difference here and I will consider that when processing the male, taken in identical conditions.

Hi Austin,
Great shot, great background! The post is fine with me as this species loves them. It looks a little on the red side on my screen.
Cheers,
Lewis.
