Barn Owl

Not been out much lately with the camera, so here's one from the other week. Barn Owl sat on his perch, looking and listening for a meal. Any thoughts on whether the vegetation should stay or go would be appreciated, I decided to leave it in as this is how it was shot.

Processed in DPP / CS2 ( 2 dust spots removed and the catchlight lifted a touch )

All comments welcome and thanks for looking.

Well, the bits of vegetation don't bother me one bit! They actually help place it fairly near the ground for me, otherwise I wouldn't know if it was 3 or 30 ft up.

It's a 'heavy' old perch all right, but this is where they live, so not much you can do about that.

Beautiful colour to the background though, and nice detail on the bird itself.

A lovely shot. Good detail and a nice clean background. The vegetation doesn't bother me either.

Leave the vegetation as is, it isn't detracting from the image in any way. Lovely smooth background and nice pose on the bird. Overall, on my screen just a touch light (easily rectified). A picture I would love to have on my hard drive.

Hi Andy,

Vegetation is fine. But I do thing you could tweak up the colours and another couple of rounds of USM.

Regards

Rob

I agree with the rest. Leave the vegetation in. Beautiful BG. Shame they wouldn't choose a more attractive perch but what I would give to get a shot like this. :wavey: :toast:

Leave the vegetation - looks great! Maybe take a little more off right side?

Thanks for the comments and advice guys, this was a bit of a rush job hence the look of the image. The image started out as my "print Tiff" which I resized and saved for web use, so no processing for web was carried out.

Cheers :toast:

Looks great as is, a touch off the right maybe, as Ian mentioned, but job done otherwise :toast:
