I made two sunrise visits to the famous Moulton barn on Mormon Row while there last month. On my second visit I was there alone so I decided to make images from the top of my vehicle (as some of you have seen me do) to gain some separation between the barn's roof and the Teton's ridgeline.
About 30 minutes after I set up I saw a herd of bison walking down the road and right into my composition. Unfortunately the light was just beginning to light up the Tetons and wasn't as good as I would have liked. But I felt fortunate to get a classic shot of Moulton barn with bison grazing around it.

Wow, what a thrill that must have been to watch those guys walk right into your frame! Like a famous photographer once said - "You can't take good pictures sitting on the couch..." You were definitely in the right place at the right time on this one. Nice work, Wayne.
Cool Wayne never have seen any bison there before. I think it would work great cropped a little closer and converted to black and white. Maybe more of a pano crop even. It could be really nice I thnk that way just no color in the foreground anyway. Add more contrast to the sky and try to bring out some more detail also when you do.
Hey Wayne, The lighting on the barn with a partial shadow is great. This is a definite wall hanger. Hope the rest of your trip went as well as this shot is good.
Amaizing photograph. There was a photograph of this barn in an art gallery in Valdosta, Ga about a week ago. It took me by surprise cause I thought someone was stealing your photograph, but at a closer look I realized the bison were missing.

Great capture, I've never seen this shot with bison in it. You've made a definite "keeper". :-)
Hope your trip was great!
