Mayflower Gulch Shot
Got a chance to do some scanning from an afternoon trip I took up to Mayflower a little over a month ago. A little preview for the CNP winter outing! Comments/critiques are welcome!!

Mamiya RZ Pro II (6x7cm)

Love the shot, Michael. It's real clean, and great use of the little swoosh of blue snow in the LRC. I see a little bit of halo around the trees and mountains as they contact the sky, but I seem to be seeing that a lot this evening. In your case it's less noticeable and less distracting than in James' shots.

Todd,

Dumb - Q? I am not seeing what you are pointing out. Maybe I dont know the def of haloing? Help me out??

Thanks

Nice clean shot Michael!

Thanks guys - and for the record I am not seeing any halo on there either? But I thought maybe I was just crazy... :jump:

The scan was a real bear though to get where I wanted it so I thought maybe I created a weird halo through my attempt at color correction. Still need to get a little more proficient on scanning and correction...

Michael,

Maybe you needed me to help you scan it

Neat shot. Been up there in the summer, but never in the winter yet.

Rich - you may be on to something there. My scanner is a POS, but I have been thinking about one of those new Epson's that hit in May.

Still on the fence tho - so some RichieV scans may be in order!

I dig the shot Michael! A great classic Mayflower image. I like the way the trees mimic the line of the jagged peaks too! Hope you can join us for the upcoming Mayflower gathering!

Thanks Brent! I would like to go back up there and explore some areas higher up that I did not get to on the first trip. First time I did moonset/sunrise on the Hoosier Pass/Breck side and then swung around to the Copper Mountain side to hike into Mayflower for late afternoon and sunset. I'll admit it - I was a bit tired at the end of the day, especially being a snowshoer.

I hope to be able to join you guys on your trip up there!

Thanks all for the comments!
