Howdy,
Had some time to spend between Gateway and Glade Park last weekend.
Now I need time to process everything.

This is a small part of the Dolores River Canyon and the LaSals for the backdrop, north of Gateway.

I wanted to get your opinions of which pano you prefer.

Here is a link to a larger version of this one.

Here is the link to the other pano.

Thanks for C&C.

Can we vote for something between the two?
Seriously, I would because I like the inclusion of the moon, the large rock formation on the right and some of the foreground hills as seen in this version but I'm not so fond of the shadows in the lower left corner or at the bottom of the tree on the right. While I like how the La Sals become more prominent in the second version I think you cropped off a little too much of the foreground.

Exactly as Josh sees it. But I'd settle for loving both equally.

I like both, but my vote would be for the second one because the mountains play a more significant role in the shot.

I like both, but prefer the first version.

In either one i think you could have added more depth perception if you could have manuevered such that the rock formation in the right fforeground was more prominently captured in the lower right and showing less of what is between you and that formation.

I prefer the first one but the shadow in LRC is a bit distracting as Josh said.

Chuck, the second one seems to be a bit on the red side with tint. Both are nice though.

Thanks for the great comments y'all.
Koveh, there is a magenta cast to the second one that needs to come out.

My preference is for the wider view but I'm going to try some cropping according to your comments. Hopefully I can crop it so the foreground doesn't seem cut off too much as it looks in the second image. It's a 6 or 7 vertical image stitch so I should have some resolution to play with.

It's forecasted to be in the 90's here (GJ) for several days - time to head for the high country.

Definitely #1 for me. I like the moon and the expansive feeling. Nice!

I like #1 the most because it gives a wider view that displays the the expansiveness of the area.
