Wildflowers will peak on July 25th, 03:47:21 local time. It will be dark, so you will miss peak. You might as well skip it altogether. Fall colors will follow suit exactly 63 days, 4 hours, 37 minutes and 9 seconds later. Hope this helps.
I thought I'd get a jump on all the folks who ask "When will wildflowers peak in Colorado this year?" In the six years I've been following this forum (the first few months as a lurker, of course), the requests for the "wildflower peak" start coming in around this time and continue into August - well past past the wildflower season. As everyone in Colorado knows, the wildflower season depends on far too many factors to be predictable.
Because Todd is usually the first to respond to that question, I directed it to him and also asked when fall colors will peak in Colorado. Shortly after posting this, I saw the whole kerfluffle about OT/contentious/non-germane posts and removed my questions. Hell, I was just stirring the pot by lobbing that softball to Todd. Creating controversy - it's what I do for fun.
Since I've recovered from that particular crisis on conscience and to clear up Jack's confusion - I'm resurrecting this thread.

Ahhh, now it makes perfect sense. All I know for sure is I'm following Todd all around Westcliffe this year. I intend to stay 100 yards behind him with my lights out so I can find all his secret spots down there. Last year I came up empty handed while he got top notch shots.
