Moon Rise = 5:15pm
Sun Sets = 6:23pm
Sounds like a potentially nice shot - any suggestions where to get Mt. Hood and the moon together ? I don't own snowshoes yet. But I'd like to be around Mt. Hood ???
Ideas ? Anybody want to meet somewhere ?
Probably will be lots of cloud cover, but I'm willing to try....
I don't know if this will help, but the moon will rise almost exactly between ENE and due E. One hour later at 6:15 it will be pretty much due E with a decl. of 7º 30' 20", az. 269º 46' 36", Alt. = 10º 26' 38" from Mt. Hood. From the right place, you should be able to get Mt. Hood and the moon close together. Lolo Pass Rd would probably get you in postion for the moon to pop up over the mountain. I don't know what the conditions are like there now. If it were going to be clear in the morning it would be a good opportunity for a moonset over the Portland Skyline, but I'm not sure if it will be clear enough.
There are two overlooks near Sandy OR that are pretty much due west of Mt. Hood. The common one is on Bluff Road just north of the high school about a mile. Overlooks the sandy river valley. The second one I found when I used to sell (show) real estate out there when interest rates were 15%+++. It is just on a road ,442nd off Music Camp Rd,which is off Firwood Rd east of sandy at shortys corner. Its been 15 years, but then it overlooked a nice farm.

Jerry, thanks for the suggestions - maybe I'll check them out.
