Hi All,

I would really appreciate some advice on how to get the best out of BB !! I'm struggling at the moment and just converting RAW to JPEG and then doing it in CS2, giving me poor results

Any help would be greatly appreciated or suggestions to an easier prog to use!!

Regards

Rob

I dont use BB as a RAW converter just a browser, batch re number etc, Cant you use CS2 for your RAW converter or wont that work with your camera, If not i would download a trial version of Capture one and try that

Hi Rob - not sure if you are Canon or Nikon.

If Canon, then try DPP.

Hi,

Dave thanks for that, and Graham, I use Canon, a 1Ds MKII and a MKIII, when I use the 1Ds MKII, I use RAW shooter essentials, a very old basic programme, but dead easy and simple to use and good for processing a RAW image before "finishing" off in CS2, but the MKIII files cannot be read by RSE so using BB, and to be honest, struggling with it !!

I've never found it to be very good for converting RAW files although Arthur Morris used to swear by it. It's best used as a tool for rapid reviewing and ditching of images. It probably is time for you to take the (big financial) hit and upgrade to CS5 assuming your computer is up to it, as CS6 probably will require you to have at least CS3 to go down the upgrade path. Personally I like the Lightroom-Photoshop combination and have been using Breezebrowser less and less.

Not the answer you want to hear of course !

RAW Shooter was a derivative product based on Capture One, developed by a guy that worked for Phase One/Capture One. Download a free trial of Capture One and see how you get on with it. It is pretty straightforward and should be relatively intuitive as I think the RS interface is similar. If you have any problems give me a call.

Just get Bibble 5 and keep CS2 that's what I did I only have paid for 1 upgrade @ $99 and it has been updated for all the cameras from the d1 to d3x d30 to 1dmk4 & 100's of other makes to.

If you fancy changing to Lightroom Rob you can download the beta version of LR3 from Adobe FoC. It works a treat and it will help streamline your image library too - it'll be well worth the investment when it goes on general release, but give it a go free.

If you need any help with it give me a call Rob  :wavey:

The two guys who developed RawShooter sold out to Adobe... and became part of the Lightroom team. Probably your best bet at the moment is to head to lightroom. It has a quicker learning curve than CaptureOne, although C1 is probably still more powerful. I'd hang off buying lightroom 2 at the mo' as it'll be due an update to V3 soon.

Breezebrowser is best left to rapid view/cull and even now I'd probably switch to Photomechanic to do the same thing.
