Hi all,
Spent Saturday morning at Stover watching the GC Grebes do their courtship dance - lucky enough to get it all on camera, so thought I'd stick one up - this is one of the 'headturning' bit of the dance.
Hi to John Lee and Graeme Lee who I met there - nice to meet up guys & I'll let you know when I go down to see the local Dippers
Nice one Mark... you lucky so and so, went down to see if their was any life in our locals, none whatsoever and poor light.... went to photograph Deer instead.
Contrast seems to be a bit high on the heads here, difficult to tell really at web size but perhaps tone that down a bit... nice pose... going to go away and sulk now..

Hi Mark
Stunning image, although I agree with Phil that the contrast seems a little high, it has a slightly unreal look to it. That said I have one other major nit - it's not mine!
There seems to be a double highlight in the eye, I think cloning this out would help combat the 'unreal' look that David mentioned, but that is really nit picking!
That time of year again... Good too see you have got spring in the UK! It's a great photo with a very pleasant light. Only suggestion would be to leave a bit more space around the scene.
Enjoyed watching them from a distance whilst you had prime position .
It shows...... stealth will get you everything. Agree with reducing the saturation slightly if possible. A great shot that shows this ritual well. Nice and sharp. Pays to lug these tripods around!!!
Nice to meet up again, and yes Mark, please let me know when you're going to have a look at the dippers. (never seen one yet!) Cheers, Graeme

I see your patience paid off. You nailed a good one there. Looks fine on my internet screen. I saw the birds and the vibrant colours of the new iris growth in the early morning light and do not think the colours are out. You did well to maintain sharpness over the two Grebes. Look forward to meeting up to go and photograph the dippers.
