Incredibly close
As soon as you can win their trust it's possible to get them as near as 10 feet.

It was nearly dark so a good moment to test the higher iso settings.

iso 1000 1/40 sec. f/5.6

Love this picture. Great exposure, well composed and different view of a beautiful young animal.

Beautiful and intimate with lovely, rich colours. Has the low light/high-ISO setting changed the colour characteristics? I find with my Canon gear that the colours change in a way I cannot describe in such conditions but it's an effect I love.

It would have been even better had the right eye not been partially obscured but I assume that the need for stillness so as not to spook the fox was paramount.

Nice to see a different POV for this animal Edwin. Love the inquisitive look and the glint in the eye, perfect. Even the leave over the left eye just adds to the image. :toast: :toast:

Has all the necessary parts, great eye contact. ISO 1000 is nought for the D3/D3s.
Nice one

That's very nice indeed, I don't have a problem with the left eye being obscured slightly either!

An extremely nice composition, and at 1/40 a technically well accomplished shot :toast:
