Red squirrel drinking
Took time out this weekend to return back up north with a great companion to my squirrel site to work on one picture . It didn't quite come off but as a wip its a start . The animals were noticed doing this quite regularly by myself and Andy S and A.
I will return in a couple of weeks once I've worked out how to get it perfect .Too tight top left I appreciate and with little processing on the image ( thanks for the kick up the proverbial on my recent offerings ,yes its home and dry Mr A.LOL)other than peanut skins removed from the rock .
Looking for a better condition squirrel and a more comfortable position in the stream .3 hours with a damp bum, eaten to distraction by midges and wedged between bolders took its toll.

I know its tight at the top but when you do get the shot it will be a good one something different a squirrel having a drink so well caught, look froward to the next one

It's a bloody charmed life you lead in'it Mark - if anyone wonders how incredibly hard Mark was working to get this shot then wonder no more http://wildlifeinpixels.com/img/0610/WIP00061191-Edit.jpg

The tightness at the top doesnt bother me although looking at the reflection you could have moved the squirrel down the frame for a 50/50 split, Great reflection and good to see a 'red' not on a branch
Looks like a good project

An excellent capture, and something a bit different.

That's a great shot- the content more than makes up for the tightness at the top of the frame.

Other than the already covered nits, this is a fine image!

Very nice despite the nit (minor in my opinion).

A great project in the making there Mark and looking forward to more. Nits covered and the squirrel is looking a bit ruffled mid moult but getting there. Stuck in the hole, still with a ciggy in the hand..! LOL! You guys crack me up..

Wow, I love this shot, tight at the top of the frame or not this excellent and worth all the obvious hard and uncomfotable work, I looked at the jpeg of your shooting position, nice and comfortable! Not.

Hi Mark,

Only just back from Norway so I missed this one last week. Looks great and I am sure you will get it perfected the way you want it with your persistence. Nature photography is not a comfortable pastime.

Cheers

Austin
