Ruby-Throated Hummingbird help
I took many pics of this same hummingbird at the feeder. most pics when it backed off the feeder. Two times I got pics of this little extention from its beak. I'm calling it a "sippy straw". I looked up on web and could not fing any mention of this. Does anyone know exactly what this is.
Thanks in advance.

I took a lot of photos of Hummingbirds last fall and got shots of this, some with the beak open, my best guess is that it is their tongue.

It's her tongue.
