Hi everyone, after some scorching weather we're back to the usual wet stuff! An appropriate image me thinks. I didn't know whether to crop this image or not, I felt the rain added to the photo, so I've left it full frame. All opinions and C&C's are most welcome here, please.
Canon EOS 7D, Sigma 150-500mm lens, Tripod.
f6.3, 1/160 sec, ISO 640, @340mm.
As said full frame, no noise reduction, just USM after resising.
Thanks for looking!
Paul.
Hi Paul, having the streaks of rain really makes the image and sets the tone & scene. You have to fell sorry for the bedraggled Tit and love the 'grub' handle bar moustache Nice refined detail and the colour is spot on. The only bit I do have concerns for is the branch, especially where the colour changes, it just looks odd.
Once again Paul you have captured the atmosphere of a dull day really well. Normally I don't think that head on shots of birds work very well but in this instance the addition of the mealworm lifts it.
Shame it's a mealworm but everything else is captured very well indeed, I suspect what Steve is referring to is just the light reflecting off the wet branch behind the bird. Doesn't bother me to much.
Not sure if your camera is front focusing as there is a lot of branch in focus in front of the bird and nothing behind-the rain makes the image and good too see as well-too many fair weather photographers these days
