Has an almost human quality, lovely light, very striking image.

There is some real potential in this image Graham and I like it, but I think it looks a little bit 'washed-out' on my monitor. Might consider adjusting the levels slightly to offer a little more detail in the lighter areas on the face and offer a little more saturation to make it punch. Might even stand a touch more USM at this sized image.

Kind regards,

Brett

For me a good portrait slightly spoiled by the eye. I'm assuming that the white is the edge of the third eyelid. All the puffins I have seen have usually had darker eyes than on this bird and it just seems a little odd to me.

Love the expression in the look, very 'doleful'... agree a few tweaks in the processing will make this an even stronger image... I have no idea if it would have been possible, but a slightly lower viewpoint?

Don't you just know how he's feeling it's been one of those days. The eye holds the key.
Colour is fine on my PC, a cracker.

Thanks for the feedback as always. It was a bright morning with sun behind me and I couldn't get lower unfortunately. Agree that I could do more with the blacks, but I didn't want to overcook it. Chrs, Graham

Perhaps a little more detail to be had, but a striking image all the same. Love the eye contact. Crop works well for me.
