During a trip to the RSPB reserve at Conwy in North Wales last weekend we saw several young rabbits at the side of the paths, some of which were very easy to get close to.
I took hundreds of pictures of birds, most of which were too far away to make good images. There is one of a robin which I will post shortly.

Hi Andy, unfortunately this image is lacking in impact. I feel this is down to the viewpoint as looking down on a mammal generally results in an unsatisfactory picture. Also on this one the rabbit is looking to much away from the viewer and the lighting has done you no favours with that harsh shadow across its back. Subject is cute and to improve this particular image I would clone out the leaf at the top and the bright foliage to the left of the image.
As a point of interest I notice this rabbit has a white mark on its forehead. I recently photographed a young rabbit in Pembrokeshire with the same mark and I believe another contributor has also posted another shot showing a different rabbit with the same mark. It appears to be becoming a common occurrence.
You've picked out some interesting details here, but I don't think the image as a whole works. The lighting is causing an issue, with the shadows falling over the head/eye and over the back of the subject.
However, the inclusion of yellow flowers is nice and I like the detail picked out but the back lighting on the ear. My personal preference would be for a slightly lower point of view which may have helped pick out the foreground details, and diffuse the background a little more.
I agree with the above comments. The trick is to get down low to eye level with these critters (where possible) then the image becomes a lot more intimate. Nice and sharp but the composition needed rethinking imo.
