Continuing with part II of my posts from last week's visit to the Paint Mines near Calhan. I mentioned before there were some interesting storm clouds. The image posted above captured some of the darkest, most dramatic ones of the afternoon and begged for b&w conversion since these rock formations were predominately white.
My first successful use of the CS5's content aware healing brush. (I took out a small twig in front of the lizard's face, under the eye). CA is nice but definitely not perfect. I still needed to use the brush in combination with the cloning stamp to get what I wanted. It is a nice addition to the PS arsenal that I'll enjoy working more with though.
Hi Joshua. These are all nice, but the first in particular is great. Perfect subject for B&W, and the lighting and clouds are dramatic. Good comp also as the foreground rock leads the vieer's eye into the rest of the scene. Nice work!
Well thanks, Joshua. I had plans to go shoot this place soon, but why bother now. I don't think I could bring back anything to match these. No favorites, they're too good. The lizard shot is marvelous. Hang on to that, because I think these are endangered.
More great stuff, Joshua. My favorite is #3 due to the sky and colors, but I think it would benefit from a crop from the top, unless of course, it will be used as a magazine cover!

That's it for today. Thanks for looking again!
