Antarctica in Winter
McMurdo Sound and Mt. Discovery. This is some of the last light about a week before the last sunset.

Close up of the Royal Society Range at sunset. These mountains are about 9000 feet straight up from sea level, and part of the Transantarctic Range.

Not quite the last sunset before winter, but close. This is looking north, of course every direction is north, over Hut Point. The monument is called Roll Cage Mary in memory of a man who fell through the ice in a tractor in the 50's.

Really like the subtle colors and the simple comp in the first image.

These are sweet. The subtlety of that first one is especially beautiful.

These are beatiful Cynthia. I like them all, but the first two are more my favorites. Love the blue on the first one and the pink colors on the second one.

That first one is stellar! What gorgeous colors! The other 2 are wonderful as well.

Really neat to see this part of the world. The soft pink light on the mountains in #2 is just fantastic.
