Portrait of a Lighthouse

Cape Blanco Lightouse, Oregon Coast
Canon 1DsIII, 24mm TSE, 1/100 sec @ f/11, ISO 100.

This was the last lighthouse on the Oregon coast that I have visited, now I've seen and photographed them all. I was a little worried about coming to Cape Blanco at mid day, but the weather really cooperated. Mother nature provided her soft box of light in the way of interesting white clouds. I think they add to what would otherwise be a fairly ordinary shot.

Love the colors and the processing. The shot with these clouds is one of the best I've seen. This is one of these lighthouses that when yo look at i it look easy to shot well. I found out it isn't. ...

David, I'm thinking the clouds would lend this to be a powerful B&W image!

Very nice perspective here. The clouds sweep up to the light tower perfectly.

Nice shot, David, considering the time of day it was. I love how the clouds sweep you towards the lighthouse. Good detail and comp.

The clouds really make this shot. How long did it take you to photograph all of the lighthouses on the Oregon Coast?
