This Tit was just about to go into the nest on this tree but waited untill I got a shot or two

Looks like you have a front-focusing problem. Nothing in the same plane as the bird appears to be sharp so its not just a slow shutter speed.

Agree with Phil regarding focusing.
Whole image looks to be a bit contrasty for my taste.

I do like the mouthful of beasties :wavey:
