Hello everyone...this is my first post. I've been observing for a long time and like what I see and the positive feedback that comes from everyone. I just hope everything gets posted the way it's supposed to. I shot this a couple years ago from the Palouse area on Step Toe Butte. I liked the warmth from the sunset, long shadows and the almost full moon. The horizon is hazy due to forest fires to the south, but it picks up the color from the sunset. I posted some of my other photos in the portfolio. I put in a variety to give you an idea what I've done. Any comments on this posting and from my portfolio are welcome. Hope to be a part of this great group of photographers and someday meet all of you out there somewhere. Thanks.

Don, welcome. I really like this. I think this is the first moon shot I've seen from the Palouse. I'm heading there on Friday...Doesn't look like I'll get much in the way of moon though. Overall the colors are spectacular. I personally would boost the contrast quite a bit and deepen the shadows. I think it would add a lot of presence and depth.
As I said, welcome, hope we see more of your work around here.

Welcome Don! Gorgeous soft sunset light. I was there on a very similar smokey full moon rise a couple years back, but my photo didn't come out anywhere near as good.

Don,
Welcome. You have a great shot here. Pretty area that I hope to visit someday. I did notice something that looks (to me) like an errant vertical photoshop brush streak. It's on the right hand side about 60% of the way down from the top. I doesn't appear to be a shadow as it's covering light and shadow areas. Might be able to remove that and boost the contrast in the mid to far land a bit. You've got a great one here!
I'll get back there again one of these days. I like the warm tones also. but agree with David. And it looks like a fuzz on your lens, easily cloned out. :)

Welcome Don. I like all of the warm tones here and the moon really adds to the scene. Looking forward to seeing more of your work.
