Hey folks,

I hope you don't write this off as spam, as I have asked the moderators for their blessing to post this. I have been a member here for a while now and thus thought of this community as a place to seek involvement in a project I am involved with at my day job.

The local TV station in Bend, OR, KOHD, is putting on a photo contest using my company's services for the purpose of finding the absolute best photos of Central Oregon and publishing them in monthly spotlights, features and eventually in a hard-bound, coffee-table book.

What's unique about this contest is that you are in the drivers seat, voting for the photos you think are the best of Central Oregon. Our editors take a look at the top photos, as decided by users' votes, and publish them in monthly spotlights and in the Capture Central Oregon hard-bound book which will be published later this year. There are a lot of prizes to be won, although for most photographers, the exposure (especially if your photos make the book) is the primary reason to get involved.

The Capture Central Oregon site benefits you as a photographer in many ways. It's all free, and you retain all rights to your photos, even published photos, as well as gaining some great exposure for your website, Flickr page, portfolio, etc. (we properly credit you, and link back to you all over the place). We even have a job board where you can list your services if you have any to offer the community.

So please, take a moment and head on over to http://www.capturecentraloregon.com

If you have any questions or concerns please send me an email, I'd love to answer or address them.
