Big Bend in Black and White
I have been working with scanning some Big Bend images and doing conversions from Velvia color to monochrome. Here are a couple you might like.

Both taken on my 4x5 with a 75mm lens. Scanned on Epson flatbed and converted in CS5.

And one of the Chisos.

I really like the second shot.

Thanks, Scott! I like that one too. While it was just an ok image in color it really became a better image in b+w.

ON the first shot, can you remove some of the shadow on the upper left ciff face?

Just my thought.

Great photos and I'm glad you are archiving them.

The two photos are quite different with respect to their primary subjects. In the first there is no detail in the sky whatsoever and in your second offering it is all about the sky. I lean toward the second as my favorite however the fg is a bit soft in this web presentation.

Sorry to be so late getting in here, but these are both really nice, Darren. Great clouds in the second one, but the fg does seem a bit soft in this web version.
