I got up early this morning to take some sunrise photos of Pikes Peak...the sunrise wasn't much to speak of, but I spent the next few hours on Rampart Range Road and Shubarth Trail shooting the wildflowers.
Pretty nice flower with some delicate light and great exposure. Kind'a busy background, though. Maybe crop off the top third? You're assured spring is really here when you see the irises!
The excellent lighting helps make this a beautiful portrait, Bob.
I agree with Ken about cropping as much of the top as you're comfortable with. The more squarish format directs the viewer's attention right to the flower.

I think John made an excellent suggestion with the square crop.

Thanks, guys! How does this look?

Oh yeah, the crop looks much better...draws me right into it. Nice job!
Like always, John's suggestions really improve the shot. My attention is a lot more focused on the flower and the bug (fly?) crawling on it. The floral colors are very pleasing with the cool background.

Better make some room on your wall, Bob.
