Seeing double - and a question ..
The male on the right has been working very hard to feed the last of three juveniles which just seems to be hanging around! The female periodically appears and pecks it on the head, but it shown no sign of moving on as yet.

1DMkIII + 500mm L IS
1/250sec at f/7.1 and ISO400; full frame

It's that red head woody time of year again !
Good stuff. Bit tight for me but no big deal.
Cheers

I had another in the same sequence - in some ways I preferred it as there is more interaction between the birds, but the view of the male is no as good. Interested to know what folks think?

I think both images work equally well. The first for the clearer view and the second for the interaction between the birds, as you say.
A fine pair of images.
