Hallet's Reflection
This morning at Dream Lake. Flying home Monday so had to get up there today before the weekend rains.

5 stops Split ND AND 2/3rds stop under exposed to eliminate blown out hilites!!

This is fantastically beautiful, Mike! Great job.

Great condition you have today! There seems to be a little bit of funny HDR feeling on the mountain and trees, I wouldn't mind if they are a tiny bit darker. How sweet it is to have these beautiful clouds and reflection!

Tien-Chien Chen is right.
It's an absolutely gorgeous scene, but looks a bit 'overcooked' in processing.

Agree with the overcooked comment but a great capture. The image sure reflects the name of the lake.

Thanks for the comments guys. I took a series of shots to try HDR but didn't like the phony look I got. This shot was taken by stacking a 2stop and a 3stop Split ND filters and a compensation of -2/3stop to eliminate any blown hilites in the clouds and/or snow. Maybe I used a tad too much fill light in my RAW conversion. It sure was a gorgeous morning!!

Mike,
You did a fantastic job, here....put it on the wall.

Here's another of the same scene. I processed another that had more light on Hallet's wall and punched up the Saturation a tad. Does it look phony? Still too much fill lite in the shadows? All comments welcome.

Wow - liked the first one, in the one above (IMO) the reflection doesn't match with the mountain top .
What a beautiful way to start the day

I prefer the cooler WB in the first version, but the contrast (or something!) looks a bit funky there. Its a nice comp and conditons tho--real nice!

I think the second one looks terrific! 'Development' looks real good, too.

Great image. Looks like I need to plan a trip up there.

Mike the first version is gorgeous! :toast:

I am not too fond of the second version - it looks a little too magenta and the reflection does match color-wise.

Both are very well done, and I agree some adjustment in contrast might be called for to bring a more natural feel. Great comps!

That's the kind of reflection that I dream of up there. Nice capture. As others have noted, I'd maybe bump up the contrast a pinch, but otherwise very nice.

Both are great shots, I prefer the light in the second and the PP in the first.
