Yellowstone Springs Abstract
I made this image on the boardwalk trail near Old Faithful Inn in Yellowstone NP. It was the patterns and warm tones in this particular thermal feature that compelled me to capture this abstract. I'm not sure about the small patch of bubbles ... a nice element or distracting. Your thoughts?

5D, 24-70 @ 24mm, 1/60 @ f/13, ISO 250, HH, 25% of FF

p.s. My heart goes out to all those affected by the recent flash flood in NE Arkansas.

Great work, Wayne. I like the spacing and placement of the three vertical lines and how they form a visual theme and variations. To me, the bubbles do strike a jarring note.

I like the colors and patterns, but the bubbles are a distraction

Cool abstract. Good eye and capture.

Really cool Wayne. The bubbles work for me. The dead twigs or grass are more distracting than the bubbles to my eye, but it is just a nit.

At first glance I didn't like the bubbles, but the more I look at, the more I find them interesting. Would be interesting to compare a shot with and without them.

I like the lines and colors, abstracts are something I just can't seem to ever 'see' so I appreciate seeing what others shoot for this type of subject.

Nice abstraction Wayne. Almost like a shot from space of a coast line and river.
The colors and composition are spot on.

Wayne, nice abstract, I tend to agree with Rod, it looks as if it was shot from space.

Great eye in seeing and composing this Wayne. Beautiful color and lots of interesting details to explore in this image. I kinda like the bubbles, but can see how some might find it objectionable. Nice work.

this is awesome. has the look and feel of an aerial photo taken from several hundred feet up and not from a boardwalk. wow. nicely done.

i could do without the small patch of bubbles, but it's hardly a deal-breaker for me. i bet it'd be easy to remove.

The bubbles are the only give-away to scale!
