Curious to what you guys think about these two shots? The second one seems a bit dark on the post.

Both are good, but I really like the first one!
MAYBE the second one is a bit dark, but it looks fine to my eye... Well done.

Both shots look OK exposure wise. The only thing that bothers me about the first shot is the leaf looks like it was placed there and my eye gets pulled to it rather than into the whole scene... I would have removed it if possible. Otherwise nice images...where were these taken?

What a great example of taking a crappy day and turning it into something good. I'd agree with Jack, my eyes keep going back to that leaf over and over. Other than that the first one is amazing.

Thanks for the feedback guys. The leaf was there on the rock, and it was a pretty slippery spot, so I didn't try to remove it as it was pretty caked on with the rain. What I can do is some selective desaturation to make it not stand out as much.

Jack, I took these in Bob's backyard... Helen Hunt Falls. :toast:

The falls and depth of the first are great! Great cloudy day scene, well done!

I like the first one very much! I think that a slight desaturation of the leaf is a good idea.
The second is technically right on, but it just doesn't do anything for me like the first one does..

I like both, and the leaf doesn't bother me. Everyone who looks at this will think you placed it there, but who cares? It's a cool lead-in.

Toveh, I gotta ask where this is. Care to divulge? I mean, was this recent?

No secret...see 4 posts up.

Yeah, don't be so lazy Todd, read man, read.
I think both are great, especially #1, and i love the leaf.

Koveh. Sorry 'bout the misspelling. I was typing over my breakfast in Salida. Thanks for the update. I usually read a thread, but apparently I missed your HHF reveal.

Koveh – both shots are beautiful! I think the leaf on the rock makes this a much stronger image.

… and a correction on what was said about placing the leaf – Every PHOTOGRAPHER who looks at this will think you placed it there!

Man, these are good! The comp in #1 is impressive.

Both are nice, but the falls in the back is better in #1. The reddish browns are complemented by the spring greens as well.

Great comp on the first one!
