Lesser Redpoll + re-post
I came across this little bird near Longformacus in the Scottish Borders. It landed in the tree just across from were I was sitting.

I like the colours of the background the tree top and the bird

Love the tree and the small in the frame composition, I would crop the RHS, taking away some of this space, leaving more space on the LHS,making a lovely portrait, nice light also Ron   :wavey:

Lose the right and perhaps some from the top and you have a great image, I can see where you are coming from with the comp but I don't think it is quite working here....

Nice image Ron.Personally I'd have cropped some off the right and bottom and left the top like David L wrote.Re-sizing police still haven't caught you yet then.

Composition is a very personal thing Ron and for me I would have definitely kept the top of the tree and probably tried a narrow vertical crop just taking some off both sides. Despite the light seeming to be quite harsh it has given some wonderful modelling to the tree branches and the bird has very graciously turned its head sufficiently to get the eye lit. Lovely image.
