Which flycatcher?
Photographed this bird yesterday at at first was thinking Eastern Phoebe - but a quick look in the book reminded me they have an all black bill. Next stop was Eastern Wood Peewee but the song didn't match up - now I'm leaning toward Willow Flycatcher. This was shot on a barrier beach between the Ocean and the Bay in West Hampton Dunes, NY. Thanks in advance.

I think it's a Willow also.

I'd be inclined to a Willow Flycatcher, too. Was the call the "fitz-bew" you'd expect?

Hi Luke - My first thought was Willow Flycatcher as well. Judging from the perch, the habitat looks right too. Nice image btw.

Luke, it depends on what you heard. Willow and Alder Flycatchers are indistinguishable in the field except by vocalization. Either is possible in your area.
