I finally got out last weekend and ended up in the Kebler Pass aspen forest on Sunday morning. Conditions were great and I made several good images. One I made very early while the aspen were still in shade had very nice subtle blue tone picked up from the reflecting sky. I posted that one on ESI. This one was a bit later and is distinctly warmer picking up soft early filtered sunlight. I like both of them!
This definitely would make a large print. The composition is quite strong, but somehow I am a little bit disturbed by the pinkish tone on the trunk, would probably try to play with the color temperature a little bit. In any case this has very strong and effective graphical elements. I'd happy to have something like this.

OMG, this is positively the coolest Kebler forest scene image I've ever laid eyes one! If those front aspens weren't picking up that warm tone, it would be very nice, but just another Kebler aspen forest scene. With it, this just blows away anything I've ever done there, or ever thought of doing there.

Love the spring green with the warm tones. Great aspen grove shot!
