In a nutshell, for around $12K you get a 22-mp camera that takes Mamiya 645AF lenses with only a 1.16X crop factor. The sensor is exactly double the size of a full-frame "35mm"-type sensor at 36x48mm.
Nice to see things are going in the right direction.

I'm glad to see it is finally shipping.
Maybe now I can sell my Mamiya lenses
I'm glad to see that Mamiya will be sticking around for a while (I hope)...
Love my RZ! But if I want to switch, I will have to buy Bill's 645 lenses and ditch my own.

If memory serves me correctly, I think the Phase One digital backs are being designed to be used on a variety of MF camera platforms. If true, one of these days, as the technology advances, those current mega-megapixel backs are going to end up being quasi-affordable. At that moment I'll be praising my decision not to part with my beloved RB67 system.

Yeah, it only took them 2 years to ship the ZD and now 22-mp's is old tech. Give me that camera with 39-mp's and I'm a happy man! Well, and the $$$$$ to buy the thing!
