With cooler temperatures and scattered thunderstorms forecast, I headed to SCB to retake some images from last October, but with hopes of nice clouds and blooming mule ear flowers. Clouds were sparse or in the wrong direction at dawn and dusk, but the mule ears seemed to be at paek of bloom. Still a good and productive weekend trip.
Used the cpl for the foreground and rock, but could not deepen enough of the sky to the left. I will try without next time and try some blending with an underexposure for the sky (using PSE7 for pp)

Last October, there were no clouds at sunset. Just a few remained this trip near sunset, so I took this late afternoon before they all vanished.

The edge of a thin cloud softened the shadows on this.
Any C&C is welcome on these images.
These were taken with Nikon D90, Tokina 12-24, cpl
Thanks.
I was down there at about the same time - Saturday, June 13th to be exact. Did I meet you at the Paria Contact Station that morning - were you looking for a permit for SCB, and receive one from a kind stranger? ;)
