out an about with compact camera again and actually enjoying the freedom and versatility it offers.. This is Star Moss or Tortula ruralis which is common moss to be found on my local 'Bog'.. It produces nice big 'cushions' which look great this time of year and the compact offered some nice depth of field to bring out the detail without having to worry about setting up tripods etc..

Very nice and deceptively hard to do with a dslr rig. The compact cameras and macro do go together well. Nice image.
