Baby coons...
Hiking in the gorge last night and I came upon 4 baby racoons. THeir mother was nowhere in sight and they seemed very lost and confused. I really wanted to take these guys home as I knew they were going to be somebody's meal soon. They didnt run at all. I shot about 80 frames of these guys, just 4 feet away.

Wow, what a story, Rick. And a sensational pic too! I hope Mom showed up sometime after you left. Very cool image.

I doubt anything happened to them, David. I got a frantic call from Rick last night asking how in the hell do you take care of 4 baby racoons. Man, I wish I was able to make it last night that would have been great fun to shoot those little guys, way cute. :toast:

What cuties, Rick! You've got some really amazing portraits of them. I'm glad you didn't really try to take them home with you though, as you'd never have time to take pictures in the future if you had!!

Very cool photos Rick. I really like the one that fell asleep. These photos put raccoons back into a higher standing with me. I usually despise them, since they tear apart my yard looking for worms/grubs. Thanks for posting.
