No Where to Land
Gannets maybee the masters of the sky, but landing is something else. they normally hit the ground with a loud thump. it was great to watch and photography these birds coming into land.

C&C welcome as always.
this is full frame. no cropping.

I like this Mark, if you have the room, I'd consider cropping a tiny bit little lower down just to balance it out. I know you were very close and capturing these action shots are normally a split second affair so may not have got the comp you wanted. Perfect wingspread.

Superb capture of the gannet coming in, I think a little off the top and some more contrast like so (probably OTT  ):-

Perfectly timed . The extra sky at the top isn't adding anything so I'd be inclined to lose some of it .

well caught Mark agree about taking some off the top, a nice shot I like it

Nicely caught action Mark. I also like the OOF Gannets underneath. Think this works well and is different to the normal Gannet shots. :wavey:

I wish my flight shots were as good as this. I really like it Mark, but I think like Tim, that it could stand a bit more light - the colours all look a bit muddy on my monitor. Wing position couldn't be better. Lovely - a bit jealous of this one.

a very nice shot Mark, particularly the one tweaked by Tim. You've got a very nice pose.

Lovely capture - I feel the second capture is a tad too contrasty - somewhere in between the two would be better IMO. Having said that it is a great capture of a fantastic moment caught extremely well.
