Broad Bodied Chaser Male
Hi folks. Back after a thunder storm completely fried my computer a couple of weeks ago. Have had to buy a new one and do all the usual reinstalling programs etc and adapt to Windows 7. Its been a complete nightmare:confused:

One taken today. Hope it looks okay. Would appreciate any comments re colours etc as I have had to recalibrate.

Actually managed to stay out of the water (for a change)

Nicely detailed Maggie and at first I was distracted by the yellow flowers in the BG but now I think they echo the colour on the body of the subject.. Nice capture albeit in quite hard light.

Brett :toast:

Ps. General colour looks fine BTW

The colours seem to be spot on. I think it could do with being a tad brighter (I was going to say it needs lightening but you seem to have already had that.. hope it didnt cause too much damage). Nice composition and DOF. :toast:

The colours look fine to me, tell are young males yellow and then turn blue, or is it just females that are yellow?
Thanks for sharing

colours look good to me as well Maggie. The lighting wasn't the best but you've still got a nice image here.

Tim, the young males do start off yellowish but the blue normally shows through fairly quickly.

Thanks for your replies. Glad colours seem okay.
Tim I thought males were blue and females yellow but I have learned something from Matt as well

Maggie

Most impressive capture, these are almost addictive to pursue, all seem to present a multitude of challenges then they are off. I see you used a tripod so maybe a silly question but are you set up in one spot and just waiting for a landing?

Looks pretty damn good to me Maggie, but I might be tempted to tone down or remove that yellow blob by the hind wing.

I wondered where you had got to. :smile : Glad you have recovered from your learning experience AKA 'complete nightmare' Excellent image to return with.

Thanks everyone for your kind comments.
Barry in this instance I was sitting at the side of the pond as I had been watching where this one kept landing so just sat and waited. He was very obliging.
Ian and David - nice to know I was missed. It certainly was a nightmare. Last thing I expected when PC and attachments were all plugged into a surge protector

I know this is closing the stable door after the horse has bolted but this may be useful reading.
