Incoming Storm
These cattle didn't look too concerned about the incoming storm, despite not having shelter with a roof!

This was shot yesterday on Deep Creek Rd., looking north toward Manhattan, which reportedly got around 5-6 in. of rain out of this baby. I know we drove back to Topeka in a real "toad strangler."

Canon Rebel XTI, handheld
35-80 mm lens
ISO 400 (forgot to change it  ), F10 @ 1/800

I'm glad you were able to get some shots of that storm from the front side. I was watching it from the back side some 150 miles away during the afternoon. That was one impressive cloud.

I like those stone remains against the green grass and dark clouds. I bet that would make some great compostions without the cattle.

Nice one Angela. I'm glad to hear you & Mike made it back to Topeka in spite of the toad strangler!

Yep, y'all got some rain. Still dry in Texas. We have not seen clouds and storms for a few weeks now.

Intriguing light and clouds, Angela. I know we're getting tired of the rain. Lots of wheat being lost around here because of the storms over the weekend.

Hey Angela, Nice shot. I have some of the same structures from when we all braved the cold and wind for our winter shoot in the Flint Hills. Nothing as as good as this though. The storm clouds and cattle add a lot of interest to the shot. It does seem to be tilted to the right though.....

Great shot Angela! And we did get a bunch of rain from this storm. I think all of our toads have been strangled for sure!

Very nice, Angela. Great clouds, and the ruins of the old rock structure add a lot of interest to the scene. I agree with Merle - looks slightly tilted to the right.

Ominous clouds and a great scene, Angela.
