Hi everyone,
I recently posted a picture over in the flora gallery and one of the posters used "DOF, OOF, POF". While I know DOF=depth of Field, I have no idea what oof and pof is. Can someone explain?
Thanks!
Marie

Mike answered it Marie, but I'll "apologize" for the computer-speak in the acronyms. In almost 40 years of serious photography, I've NEVER heard a photographer say "DOF, OOF or POF." They always use the words. All are important concepts and tools as you know, but the text versions were lost somewhere in the advent of the keyboard.

"but the text versions were lost somewhere in the advent of the keyboard"

...and text messaging.

L8r, ttfn, Hank.

P.S. There was once a very humerous thread here at NPN about acronyms. I wish I could find it.
