Spotted Fly-catcher
One from today this is the female it was ringed as an adult seven years a go and has been coming back to the same nest site and successfully rearing one to two broods every year.

Superb Phil, one of my top 5 birds, a corker.

Excellent Phil,

Great detail, head position and the beak full of food as well. Maybe just tone down the brightest green area in the BKGR ( circle RHS edge )

Cheers

Austin

Looks spot on to me, absoulte cracker. love the perch, and added bonus of insects.,
Flipping ringers tho,, that always annoys me. everything seems to have a ring these days.

So it's tame then?? I was just talking to somebody yesterday that used to get them in his garden and neither of us could remember when we last saw one. It's a fine shot Phil and it has everything. I think the nits are fair comment but its still a beauty.

Fab bird with great detail. Everything is sharp as it should be. Nearly as good a Nigels'...

Out of interest how much affect does the 2x have on the 200f2 lens - does it degrade the image quality much?

Great bird to get Phil - especially these days. When you think back to the old days they were everywhere.
I do find the perch a little over powering but not a big deal.

Hi Ian the IQ is about the same as the 200-400 @ 400 with the 2x tc but much better @200mm @f2, it has very very high IQ with the 1.7 tc which is very sharp wide open, the new 2x tc has more contrast than the mk1 I have thou my mk1 tc is much better than the mk2 I had ?.
