Incoming Storm 2
Hey Angela, the same storm you photographed in Mahattan area eventually hit Topeka.

We didn't get as much rain as you guys but it was exciting...

Here's one I took from 3 mi. n. of Topeka looking south over the
city.

Very nice Larry. I like the foregrond object and the lightning is excellent.

Whoa, how'd you get lucky enough to capture lightning? Cool shot!

We drove from Alma to west side of Topeka in pouring rain (a "toad strangler" as my dad would say) before we ran out of it. We made a stop at Huntoon & Gage on our way to the house, but the rain caught up with us. It was quite the deluge, that's for sure. Can't imagine how bad it was over at Manhattan, since they got around 6 in.

Angela,
I forgot you live in Topeka. Toad Strangler is an accurte term especially for those in Mahattan.
I was home Wed. afternoon and the camera was active.
Here is another shot of the clouds.

Gale,
You seem to be a good poster--very high ratio.
Thanks for looking.

Both are nice, Larry, but the one with the lightning is great. Did you use a trigger for that one?

Larry, I am with Bill, the first shot with the lightning is very nice!

That first shot is awesome Larry!!! Wow. The lightning is great, but also captured in an otherwise interesting composition, which really makes it outstanding.

Hope you came through all the storms last night ok. I'm off today to help my parents in Waterville clean up a destroyed yard (but thankfully undamaged house!)...80 mph straight line winds there Sat. morning.

Wow, the quality of light and action you've captured here are excellent. Great work Larry!
