Pawnee
Went to Pawnee National Grassland for a couple of days. I was just amazed at the variety of plant and animal life. With everybody going west, places like this are largely ignored. I maybe saw two people.
They have no idea what they are missing, which I guess is good if you like solitude! Even know, Cannot stop thinking about the place! Forgive my rambling!

Thanks for the reminder to head east once in awhile. The mountains are always a big draw for me. Nice work here, Dan. That first one is outstanding and probably belongs on the cover of a magazine.

The first one is great! I might crop a tad off the top.

Dan # 1 is really nice. I spent tonite trying to get some young burrowingowls and managed to find 2 nests of 5 but didn't get any pictures. The kids and parents are still pretty cautious but hopefully they will get used to me. I know what you mean about the plains. I moved about 20 miles south of Pawnee last year and didn't think i would like it. I love it! There is so much wildlife out here that it will keep me busy for a long time.

Really like the owl image. It almost looks like he/she has furrowed eyebrows. The eyes are really nice too. Thanks for posting these.

Awesome wildlife as is usual from you. The owl is giving a look my wife gives me when I think I'm being funny.

The wildlife images are typical Dan Walters caliber work...sharp, well composed and exposed, and just flat out beautiful!

Great shots Dan! Glad to see you finally made it out there. Did you end up out on the road on the east side? Love the Burrowing Owl shot....still one of my favorite birds. :toast:

Nice set and even a landscape in there! That PH has some wild horns, doesn't he?
