Puffin Portrait
Taken just after the Puffin emerged from his/her hole and into the morning light. Very obliging and addictive!

MKIII, 500mm, f4, 1/1000, f6.3

Fine portrait Graham. BG is wonderful.
Sharpness is perfect on the eye
I would just stop down a bit more to have more sharp detail on the plumage.
I dont know, just a personal taste. Not shure about the BG if stopping down more.

Hi, pose and BG are spot on, very nice light too, needs a little more DOF, and looks a little soft to me too.

Graham

Well caught and I know how he's feeling the look says it all.

I'd say f8 for this one as you looked to be a bit close Graham, and perhaps minus half a stop as the light seemed harsh and the feather can be darker without loosing the details. I agree that these guys are just irresistible!

A super image Graham, they always look so sad, especially with those eyes. Agree a tad more DOF would have helped, but nevertheless, wonderful work.

Eye and beak look sharp to me Graham and nicely composed.
