That is incredible. I hit a coyote on the Interstate about 8 years ago. I saw it way up in front and it casually started walking toward the median. I braked a little, but thought it would stay in the median. Nope. It came running back towards the side of the road at the last second. I was probably travelling 60 to 65 mph when I hit it. It didn't get stuck in the grill. My truck had a chrome front bumper and the coyote put a huge dent in it. I cannot imagine that the coyote would be able to get hit by that car and survive, much less travel several hundred miles.
I am happy the coyote survived such a wild ride with only minor injury.
Honestly, I am a little bafled that the driver didn't stop immediately after the accident, if only to check that his vehicle was safe to drive. If he had done so, the poor animal may well have been rescued much earlier on.

Fortunately, the outcome was a good one.
