Golden Eagle (C)
Hi everyone, many thanks for the comments on yesterdays upload, I'm honoured. Maggie you payed me a real complement, thankyou! Todays upload is a shot of Xena, a female Golden Eagle. I thought the pose rather striking, and not one usually seen. All comments are once again most welcome, many thanks. :wavey:

Canon EOS 7D, Sigma 70-200mm f2.8 EX, Tripod.

f2.8, 1/100 sec, ISO 100, @200mm.

Full Frame, processed in CS5. Slight Levels adjustment, resize, and sharpen using USM.

Certainly a slightly different pose. Maybe a tight crop around the head would add some impact. In fact I am sure it would.
Cheers

Interesting POV Paul and great for thinking out of the box. Captive birds are great practise for the wild subjects and so there is always a place for them in your portfolio. However, I do find that the essence of raptors is often lost in captivity which is shown by that blunt beak which is often overgrown in many birds.. Nothing you can do about it and more for comment than anything else..

Kind regards,

Brett :toast:
