I was curious what any of you are doing about the filter issue with this lens. While it truely is one of the finest lenses I have ever used, its large front and fish eye like glass makes it a nightmare for filters. Especially when I have become addicted to many of the great singh-ray fliters like the vari-n-duo, etc. The only mount I can come up with is that corkin pro clamp style setup which is very $$$$ just for use with this one lens, and then I would have to buy the very large fliters to go with this new setup. All for just this lens  ! I know you can handhold a fliter, but when you need to stack it becomes an issue.

Just thought I would see what others have come up with for this lens.

Thanks :wavey:

I bought that lens a few months ago and love it, but I do wish it was a little more filter friendly. The only filters I use are grads and a circular polarizer. I don't miss the grads too much, as I can do exposure blends when necessary, but I do miss the polarizer for some conditions (although it's also a good way to ruin a nice blue sky). I also looked into the Cokin adapter, but it’s pricy and still results in a vignette at the widest angles. I figure I’ll just deal with it for awhile and hope that someone else comes up with a good system for that lens.

I've simply abandoned the idea of using filters with this lens. I've successfully blended exposures using the 14-24, making grad use (arguably) unnecessary. Polarizers won't even come close to covering the field of view on a lens this wide (they come nowhere near covering the FOV at the narrowest setting--24mm) anyway, which is something worth keeping in mind.

That said, Lee has developed a special filter holding system specifically for the 14-24, which you can see here. Last I heard they had no intention of producing a polarizer for this kit, however.
