Moon rise along Old K18
I was out tonight along one of my favorite drives just outside of Manhattan and lucked into one of the most beautiful evenings I have ever witnessed. Nights like this really make me appreciate being alive. Wow. I didn't even know what to shoot it was all so stunning. Sunset on one side of the road, moon rise on the other and fantastic clouds and light everywhere.

OK, Scott, you did it. Great comp and color.

That twisting cloud form contrasts nicely with the rising moon and balances the white.

The subltle color on the horizon and transitional blues make for a great photo.

Wow, awesome shot!! Wish I had been out shooting, but I was busy packing for our trip. OldK18 is one of my favorite haunts these days as well. In fact, that's where I saw 30+ different species of wildflowers last weekend. This is a stellar shot - print it big :toast:

Beautiful shot!
This image brings back memories of the many times I drove K18 in the early '60's on my way from Denver to Lawrence. That was the days before I-70 was complete. Just me and a lot of truckers.
Nice work...great clouds & moon.
