RMNP Get-Together (Photo Show-off!)

Hello RMNP;

So.... I've had this crazy idea for a 'Summer Shindig' at our house in NW Denver, because I have an awesome 14' diagonal movie screen in my backyard, on which we could have a slideshow of everyone's recent photography (and some from the archives), along with plenty of photographer beverages and of course a serious grilling session for those who feel the need to show off their mad skills.....both photographically and culinary.

Without further ado, I hereby invite all RMNP folks willing to make the trek to the northside to come enjoy each others' company, have a slideshow, listen to some great music, eat, drink, and hang out. The date I have set is Saturday, July 24, starting around 6:30 pm, so mark your calendars.

If you think you'd like to come, please RSVP via email (email me through NPN), and defintely bring your images on a flash drive or CD. Optimal image size is 1920px by 1080px tall (HD format). I will send over my address, etc. in my reply.

You might want to change the date, a lot of people will be heading out for wildflower week.

Jody I had thought about this but this is one of the only free weekends that I have. Hopefully some of you won't be chasing the flora this weekend. I can't be wishy-washy about the date, I'm just setting it and hopefully some folks will show. You don't know until you try, right??? :)

I think it's a good idea to set a firm date, but it is a shame it's right on the probable peak weekend for flowers. But what a GREAT idea! I try to avoid traveling during the week, so I'll see if I can arrange to come up, and will let you know.

Man, wish I could make it Chris, that's a sweet set up! But, high school reunion that weekend back in Iowa. Have fun though!

Well, it didn't take you long to get that posted.

You know I'll be there (unless I'm out shooting wildflowers, of course). In the meantime, we'll continue Saturday afternoon cocktails on the verandah.

Would anyone be willing to do this sooner? How about a 'wildflowers kickoff shindig'?

Can anyone tell I need motivation to GET OUT and SHOOT? Like Charles Barkey says, 'it's Terrible'....

The other date that will work for me is July 10th, I know, right around the corner, but hey, should get us all stoked for wildflowers, right?

Thanks for the invitation Chris. It's great of you to organize this for everyone on the forum. I'm not sure yet if I'll be in town then but I'll let you know.
