Honoo Jí
'Honoo jí' is Navajo for 'sawtooth', 'jagged' or 'serrated' and is what the people call this area in a remote corner of the Navajo Nation in NE Arizona.
This is part of a 4 shot horizontal panorama, of which just half made the cut. I do have one without the 'sunburst', but was curious about the reaction to it here.

That's about it for the desert and me this summer. It's hard for me to give up, but when it gets this hot (100°+), it's a fool's errand to continue.

I like everything here. Thanks for sharing.

Looks like a strong end to your summer desert shooting. I wouldn't mind seeing more of the formations in the upper right (and perhaps more of the sun). I'm not sure if that is part of what you cropped out. Nevertheless, I really like the inclusion of the sunburst and as it is cropped now this image is really nice.

John, Very unusual image. I like the ledges on the left leading into the formations. The sunburst also adds to it.

Fascinating formations. I think the sunburst is a nice touch and the colors are great. Wonderful work as usual, John!

Wonderful - liked the shot, sunburst at the upper corner looks nice too.

John, exposure looks good to me with no areas too dark nor too bright to make a soft evening light, which I really like. Feelss a little cut off at the top, but looks like that is cropped right at the ridge top anyway. I would like to see the rest of the star bust to the left and the J-shaped ridge on the valley floor, if the close LL ridge does not become overbearing. Looks like that spot would be a good early morning location also.

sunburst is surely a nice touch.

That sunburst is awesome! Nice shot John.

Very interesting subject. The image is very nice and the sunburst helps balance the image and provides leading lines back to the rock formations.

Thanks for the kind words and great suggestions!
I can add a bit more to the left, and even though the sky was directly above what you can see on top, I'll introduce a bit more back to provide more 'room'.
Thanks again!

I think that the fact that every time I lay eyes on one of your images, my immediate reaction is "WHOA!" Says it all. This one is no exception. Can't wait to see it on the home. Computer.

Funny, this was what I was thinking before I read this.

A very thoughtfull comp and rich in detail - I like the inclusion of the sun star - and making it a partial sun star is a really cool choice. Sweet shot!

The sunburst is a nice addition in the otherwise empty upper left. Those formations look excellent for further exploration if you already haven't.

Great color and detail. Really like the sunburst, adds a little extra to the image.

Great light on the rocks and I like the sunburst.
