Marbled White

Hi all,

One from early this morning as the butterfly was warming its wings. Nice to see these around again. The background is shaded woodland. Advice and critique welcome.

Thanks for looking,

Lewis.

Like the dark BG shows the butterfly up nicely and like the light through the wings. Wonder if a portrait might have worked well here? Nice shot Lewis. :wavey:

Good stuff indeed. One of my favourite viewponts with butterflies.

Thats a nice one.... the light through the wings is superb... comp wise I wonder, a little lower and a little of the left?

Superb lighting through the wings, other nit covered on the comp.

Nice to see something a bit different.

Something different and nicely done Lewis. I would, however, bring up the exposure just a little but being selective about the butterfly and adjust to bring a little more detail into the body and eye areas. I had a quick tweak in PS and think there is some nice detail to recover there without bringing in that green area of the woodlands in the BG.

Kind regards,
